What if Randall Monroe...

Postby pierski » Wed Jul 09, 2008 2:34 am

I know that xkcd is not a gaming comic. But so many of you email me about this being a What if...? comic that I thought I would finally do one. To justify me doing so: Video games are built by using programming languages. Math is a core foundation of programming languages. xkcd is about math. Thus, xkcd is about video games. Or something like that... All I really know is that I always enjoy reading xkcd, but keep forgetting to add it to my links page. I really need to do that this weekend.

Side note... I want to say that I'm sorry for the delay with this comic and lack of a Thursday update last week. I was pretty sick over the past week and just didn't have the energy or motivation. Sorry... But I do what to thank Chris for giving a damn. He's a really good guy with a great comic.

Good news, though! The NEW Dueling Analogs store is up and running. And is now taking pre-orders for the Rejected Mega Man Villains. Plus, I'll be adding some new merchandise to the store next week. But why wait 'til next week? Head on over there and check it out TODAY!.

Very good comic. I love me some xkcd. Any other What Ifs planned, or was this a one off return?

Nice strip, XKCD is goodddddddddddddddd

Additionaly, some weeks ago they put a strip about fields by purity, and like you said, videogames are applied coding, and coding are applied math... Man, everything can be applied to that, XKCD FTW!!!

Next "What If" could be 2P Start, or RPG-TV.com
Roberto Duran, Mariano Rivera, Ruben Blades, Justine Pasek, Rod Carew, Ramiro Mendoza, Los Rabanes, El General, The Canal, Flex, Match & Daddy, El Roockie, Eddy Lover, Irving Saladino, Laffit Pincay, Danilo P?©rez, Omar Alfano... to name a few...

Slightly disappointed by this one.
I was hoping for xkcd-style alt text as well.

I wanted to do that, but the comics are dynamically pulled in. So in order to affect this one comic I would need to alter the code for all comics. Wasn't too keen on doing that at 2 in the morning. Sorry...

I do have another one planned for either the Thursday before or Monday after I go to ConnectiCon.

Kudos to you for listening to griping internet denizens and adding in the rollover text. Now we can't complain that you don't listen to your fans AND you can now guilt us into buying merchandise from your store because you went that extra mile for us ;)

(Will probably be buying a shirt within a week)
