Red Ring of Death

Postby pierski » Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:48 am

I always wondered what happened to this guy.

Seriously though, the red ring of death is nothing to laugh about no matter what your sexual orientation. Unless you own a PS3 and have no intentions of ever getting a 360. Then I guess its pretty damn funny.

On an artistic note. today's comic falls into the too much based on reality strip. By default my art style is very cartoonish and I much prefer it that way. But every now and then, I have friends pose for comics so that I can get folds and muscle definition correct. And sometime not so cartoonish creations are born. If I'm just guessing at the way clothes will fall or arms will bend, I will always lean towards the side of toonish and stylized. But if I have someone posing or I took a picture of someone, I see then see how it really folds or bends. This uncontrollable need to make the artwork look more real takes over. I try to stop it, but before you know it the comic is done. I don't think said strips look bad. I just don't think they truly reflect my art style. Now you might say, just quick using model references. Unfortunately, some angles are just awkward enough that I need a reference to do the artwork.

That ,and the fact it will drastically speed up my creation time, is the reason I want one of these. If I'm moving as quickly on the digital artwork as I would work with the pencil, the natural flow will come out through the finished product instead of the perceptual tweaking I do now. Hoping I do well enough at KatsuCon to help pay for one of those things. Its a lot of money just to come up with, but it will be worth it.

Back on top baby.

I love it, I always have loved these one panel comics. This is one of my new favorites.

Now I demand that I'm in the next comic! My will be done!

You know, the Wii doesn't have this. And it's cheaper. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Good comic, it's funny to me because even when my systems of choice are the Wii and PS3 and i'm not buying a 360 (unless they change their sys specs and HD policy) my friend has one and he's doing everything he can to avoid the red ring  M$ always with their "something crappy of death"...

And is true, talking like a gamer with a non-gamer can lead you to some shite, it's like saying to a woman "hey, wanna play with my Wii", true story
Roberto Duran, Mariano Rivera, Ruben Blades, Justine Pasek, Rod Carew, Ramiro Mendoza, Los Rabanes, El General, The Canal, Flex, Match & Daddy, El Roockie, Eddy Lover, Irving Saladino, Laffit Pincay, Danilo P?©rez, Omar Alfano... to name a few...

I just got one and it's not cheaper by much. If you have friends (just an assumption) you may want to buy those $60 controllers and peripherals. But then again, you could just take turns playing Mario and Sonic against the computer.

There's no denying this is an annoying issue but A. people have owned a 360 and either not had the ring of death or had it happen to them once, which isn't too huge a deal, more than once does happen but the percentage of that cuts considerably. Oh and B. I'd rather have a 360 and a deluge of good exclusives than a PS3 and one (burn) :P

Yeah, I'm not sure if there is a real red ring of death. But I am sure that most of you can speculate as to what it could be.

Yeah, one gets the idea... ish... But it's true, there's no such thing in the urban dictionaries (like "Mushroom Stamping" ), congrats Steve, you created a new euphemism to "that" jejeje, even it can be used to bother Richard on TOC

And btw, that dude maybe doesn't play videogames, but he is indeed a gamer, IYKWIM
