My Greatest Achievement
The close up strips (example 1 and example 2) I do always remind me of the Shedd’s Spread’s Country Crock "Hands Campaign" commercials.
Some of you may feel that fifty thousand is still a small enough amount of XBOX Live achievement points to still have a social life. To those, this comic is dedicated to you. That being said, if you appear on this page I both want to both commend and commiserate you. Seriously, wow but whoa... I joke about fifty thousand and these guys are almost pushing three hundred thousand. I, myself, have been perpetually one hundred points away from ten thousand. I just got GTA IV today. So that won't be the case for much longer.
Did you see that the number five person is Japanese? That one single guy makes up all the sales that the XBOX 360 has in Japan.
On but off subject. Do you think anyone will ever hit one million during this generations actual life span? What is highest total achievement points anyone could even have right now if they had them all? Just wondering...

#5 Person
Actually, the fifth person is Italian who simply imports titles for GamerScore.
Of course, this doesn't change your base comment, which is the fact that they (along with some other worldwide users who purchase Japanese consoles and games) probably contribute to a decent portion of the sales numbers for that region.
One million during this generation? It's a tough call. I mean, you can say this this generation is close to being halfway over, and the highest possible score is about 360,000.
On the other hand, who knows how many titles (and shovelware) the console will have over the next couple of years.
In addition, it depends on whether you define 'this generation' by 'all games until the next Xbox is released', or 'all games until they stop making them for the 360' - The former is unlikely, the latter is probably a given.

The thing is: What do they do with that amount of points??? i like getting achievments for doing things, but only collect points to brag about is not what i like anymore, i stopped doing that several years ago (The FAMICOM was the "it" system back then)...
If i'm gonna get crazy getting points i would like something in return, like with the credit cards jejejeje...

I hear that #22 actually borrows every game from #5.

So the list is populated by people from America, two from Japan, two from France, one from the netherlands (is that the correct flag?), two from Britain, and number one is from what I believe is the
flag of Hong Kong.
I find that I don't care about gamerscore, if I get an achievement by chance while playing a game, then that's fine with me. Look how low mine is compared to theirs.
I may eat my words from last week, GTA IV does look good... I have seen my friend play it already. Still unsure about the censored content...

Exactly, i love the achievments because it's extra fun to do them, the only way i would fight getting higher and higher scores is because there's something in return, that's the reason i laughed my ass off when reading this VGCats strip

They should unlock something, which games sometimes do (halo 3). It's a very novel idea which has potential, but it generally goes to waste.
I can't seem to find any new information on GTA IV's edited edition...

I'm surprised no one mention the idea of hacking... If you noticed A LOT of them have the privacy setting enabled so you can't even see what games they got the achievements in or when. That in turn makes me wonder, only a wee bit, if they had really earned all of said achievements themselves...
