Moogle, Moogle on the wall...
Though I'm posting news on Tuesday, the comic did update on Monday. I wanted to make sure that everything got back on schedule. Even though it was an evening comic, it was still a Monday comic.
I had fun at NekoCon X this weekend and look forward to attending next year. Speaking of conventions, I've almost got my list of cons I will be attending finalized for 2008. I'm only waiting on details from two cons... one of which is MAGfest VI. Here's hoping that posting a link might expedite the process... hint, hint!
Now for the traditional convention pimpage... I got to meet the guys from Death by Pixel and Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, got to talk to David Lister of Paradox Lost again (awesome guy), sold some wares and had a late dinner with the crews from Morlock Enterprises, Hookie Dookie Panic, Blue and Blond, Bored and Evil, Dominic Deegan and Comedity... speaking of Comedity, make sure to pre-order their first book as I am definitely looking forward to it and you should too. I know I forgot to mention a few webcomics I met there. So if you're seeing this and you're one of them contact me and let me know.
Oh, yeah. Harry Potter + Final Fantasy = this comic, dur...

Hmmm... I personally liked your old comics more, the ones with a short storyline instead of just a punchline.

Its a juggling match right now. I enjoy doing the longer comics, but since they are longer they take longer. So when I have time constraints or I feel a joke can be summed up in a single panel, I do.
Bizarrely, the single panels are more well received than my multi-panel comics. Its a weird feeling when you know the more time you put into something the less positive the response is. Granted, I never created Dueling Analogs for the general population. It is still nice to get an overall positive response every now and then.
That said... since I entered the realm of infinite canvas, my mind creates two kinds of comics. One is single panels and the other is very, very long... The long ones I feel are good, but cause delays. Its very hard for me to release a long comic and release it in a timely manner when I'm also juggling a full-time job and a family. Hell, I wish I could regularly update the comic at least three times a week, but its just not in the cards.
That said, the recent comics have been a 50/50 split of single and multi-panel comics. Trust me, I've got the longer comic ideas. Now I just have to find the time to create them. Maybe we'll get a longer than normal one on Monday.

I personally happen to prefer one-panel shots to multi-panel comics, since I've seen a lot more success (and I tend to laugh a lot more) when they're able to get their joke across in just one panel, rather than stretching it out into a storyline and risking bungling the buildup. Some people might accuse this of being a bit attention deficit, but often, one panel seem to have a bit more intelligence in them required to get the joke, or no intelligence at all in the case of just visual humor, while multi-panels sometimes have to explain themselves before the punchline ever arrives, and we all know what that means in terms of the success of a joke. (This might explain why Jay London and George Carlin in his one-liner wit stage are my favorite comedians)
..Also, you are one lucky bastard to be able to meet the YGO Abridged dude(s). *sigh* I suppose it comes with the territory, don't it...

Are they really that big? Nice guys, but I didn't know they were that large. Best of my knowledge Mookie from Dominic Deegan was the biggest name from our neck of the woods there.

They might not be that big all over, I have no idea, but I for one greatly enjoy the series, and it becomes a favorite topic of discussion (and line regurgitation) amongst me and my friends, and also a lot of my friends online. It's big to me :>

Same her. I, in fact, learned about it from a friend. In America!

I'll spare you the crazy statistics and references and other useless jazz I have handy and just tell you straight up; TAS is, for lack of a more direct term, ecksbocks hueg.
In other news, I dunno. I kind of like the single panel comics better myself; they're good, quick humor that doesn't put too much strain on the artist. In most cases regarding Dueling Analogs they're just as funny, so hey, I can't complain.
