I Heard It Through The Grapevine

Postby pierski » Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:56 am

The Xbox 360 does NOT give off radiation that kills babies... to the best of my knowledge.

I'm expecting to start getting a bunch of posting and emails about what's wrong with the Xbox 360 now. Instead of doing what I'm expecting, why not post and send emails about what Panasonic did right with the 3DO? It's okay. I can wait.

Don't forget that the Valkyrie Profile contest is still running from now until March 13. If you haven't already entered, do it now!

It's short, but that's it for now...

I once kissed a horse on the mouth. Bet you weren't expecting that post.

Isn't the red ring of death still around?

No I think the red ring has been fixed. One think I liked about the 3DO is that several companies made their own. I had a Goldstar one.

Nah, the RRoD isn't "Fixed", just "Not prevalent enough that you're basically guaranteed to have to get your 360 repaired at some point during its lifetime." And even if they fixed that one issue, there's still the giant circular scratches your discs will get if you glance sideways at the thing while it's running. Also Halo sux.

Oh, and Miley Cyrus.

This is thankfully false. Idiots might try flipping their 360 with it running with a disc in the drive to counter that though. The RRoD is fixed thankfully, with the latest revisions.

Also Halo sux.

Let this be a first: I'm a sony fanboy who grew up playing Ace Combat, Metal Gear Solid and bought the first Killzone within a week of its release (and still play it today, friggen not having money to buy Killzone 2), but I do enjoy a bit of Halo 2 with my friends from time to time on the old school XBOX. Mainly because Killzone is so brutal to the player that once you get good at it you can kick ass at any shooter ever.

I have friends with the most recent XBawks who have still been getting RRoD's.

As for flipping your system, you shouldn't HAVE to do something stupid like that.

And you NEVER TRIED TO ARGUE AGAINST MILEY CYRUS

If you're good at ANY shooter you're going to kick ass at any shooter ever.

Well, except the most recent two CoD's. Since the whole "Get shot twice and you die" thing screws up some people (Halo players) who are used to being able to take as many shots as super mutant behemoth wearing the T-51b and hopped up on Med-X.

Ah, the beauty of U.S.-centric media. I guess if that's all you payed any attention to, then this is how you would view the situation.

P.S. The RRoD is unfortunately far from fixed. The mass majority of machines out there are still running components just waiting to crash on them, my machine included :(

P.P.S. Worse still is that the latest machines still have disc drives that sound like the 360 is trying to take off in flight when running a DVD.

I think you'll find that this is actually a little known promotional campaign for that new game Halocopter.

Also, Halo is overrated. I shows how hype can distort reviewers' opinions.

I totally have a 3DO and wonder why did they fail?
I will also admit I still play shockwave and wing commander 4 on it too....and I unfortunately have to admit that as a 360 user I am somewhat upset that when I play a game or watch a movie the fan on my system sounds like a fucking jet engine, and that they gave me a shitty RB on my halo 3 controller
look at me and tell me everything was a lie.

I love the way that whenever I turn on a 360 it sounds like grit in a blender.

I think people are saying that the 360 is too loud.
