Aerith Stabbed First!
Square-Enix is planning on re-releasing Final Fantasy VII one, or more, of the new video game consoles. Unfortunately, they have yet to announce which console it will be released on, when it will be released, whether or not said console that it will finally be released on currently exists or not, or anything else about said plans. They've said nothing! But we all know they can't let this cash cow lay dormant forever. I'm just getting a head start on mentioning it before it happens.
With that said, I'd be willing to bet money that someone will post this comic or a link to this comic on their site/blog saying something to the effect of, "They're finally remaking Final Fantasy VII!" Seriously. Most people simply come to the website, look at the comic, possibly read the words in the comic, and then leave... Actually, according to the stats the average person "reads" five comics before leaving. And that's your random rant/trivia combo for the day. But, most people ignore the news posting below the comics. Those people are missing out on a lot of important details. Like the one that Square-Enix has yet to announce it is re-releasing Final Fantasy VII. See! That's an important piece of knowledge to have with this strip.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering the inspiration for this comic came from seeing The Clone Wars, this post and mixing the two licenses together in my head.
Oh, and just in case you are also wondering my opinion on The Clone Wars... Well, I think Joe Dunn does a pretty good job of summing it up my thoughts.

GOLD MEDAL!!!
I'm waiting for TGS to see if they are doing the remake, SE so far announced the Remake of Advent Children on Blu-Ray with a FFXIII demo and trailers of Versus (Tetsuya Nomura FTW!!!) and Agito, but nothing about this mandatory remake...
I prefer the release of this game on the PS3, but what i really want is that it doesn't end on a phreaking handheld, because this title WILL benefit from HD graphics...
BTW, George Lucas is getting worse by the second, awesome comic

The way S.E. has been re-releasing titles in the Final Fantasy line, it's only a matter of time until FFVII turn comes around. And as far as 'fixing' the plot goes, I know that the older NES and SNES ones have been given changes due to translation errors/ lack of space.
Regardless, Lucas needs to stop meddling w/ Star Wars ha.

Good old Lucas. Is there nothing that his touch can not fix?

Wow, your forum has a way to delete double posts? This is the best forum ever!
I love hearing about the fun trivia that website statistics provide. It is so easy for me to dive into the data collected by those statistics and ponder what it all means. Not to mention the fact that I find some of the random Google search strings that bring people to a website amusing.

A FFVII remake...even if it isn't announced yet, ugh. Not that I had any problem with the game, it's just that the fanboys and girls that went relatively quiet will come back out full force to join the loud ones that still exist ;-;

Does this count?
I'd give you the points if I were the judge.

ok i followed the link to the other comic in the news post and i've got a question.
does jabba really have a son in the clone wars? if so than gorgie boy needs to be taken out back and shot 76 times in the head. it's not a matter of plot problems to me but a phsyical immpossiblity. you see male hutts can not breed.
hutts are asexual. they are born male and once they reach maturity can decide to become female . once they change in to females hutts simply become pregnate. once the offspring is old enough to live outside it's mother's pouch the hutt loses some of their female characteristics. they become an it . once an it hutts can return to being female to have more children but can never again be male
my friends think the fact that i know this makes me the biggest geek ever. i tend to agree.

Jabba having a son is possible. He could have reproduced asexually the one time that hutts can do this their lives and changed from being male to female during said cycle. The problem with this area in the movie is that Jabba has an uncle in the film. Unless, he's an uncle in name only this is impossible.
Another inconsistency occurs in the Star Wars universe pertaining to the hutt's reproduction and its in Star Wars: Boba Fett -- Murder Most Foul: where an male and female hutt are married and "she" was already a female before becoming pregnant.
Nonetheless, Joe Dunn sums ups Lucas and the movie in these lines:
I think it'll do a lot better when the episode begin to air on tv. As they will be short spurts and not feature length.

Joe Dunn wrote:Lucas is definitely not in touch with his target audience, though I think his target audience over the years has become himself. Or maybe it always was and he was just a lot cooler in the 70s.
